BBCE project coordinator Assoc.prof. Janis Locs and WP4 leader Dr.s.cin.g Arita Dubņika participated at the 28th Annual Conference of the European Society of Biomaterials (ESB2017) with the presentation “Establishment of Baltic Biomaterials centre of excellence”. During the conference they had a meeting with project partner Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini from the Institute of Biomaterials University of Erlangen – Nuremberg and discussed further steps of the project, as well as established new connections with Cam Bioceramics B.V. (Netherlands) and Institute of Biosciences and Medical Technology (Finland).

BBCE kick-off meeting and evaluation visits for BBCE core partners will be held on 25th – 26th of September 2017 at Riga Technical university Rudolfs Cimdins Riga Biomaterials innovations and development centre, Latvian Institute of organic synthesis and Riga Stradins University.

BBCE partner RTU Rudolfs Cimdins Riga Biomaterials innovations and development centre will participate in the annual science communication event “European Researchers Night”. On 29th of September school children will be guided through the mysterious world of science in our laboratories. BBCE project´s main objective is to establish a joint Baltic Biomaterials Centre of Excellence for advanced biomaterials development based on the long-term strategic cooperation between AO Research Institute Davos, Switzerland (ARI) and Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany (FAU) on the one hand and RTU RBIDC, LIOS, RSU and RSU IS on the other hand.
