Agnese Brangule received her PhD in Chemistry Technology in 2017. Her primary competencies are in nondestructive analytical techniques (spectroscopic methods FTIR -PAS, DRIFT, ATR; XRF, Raman, Raman SERS), which can provide both qualitative and quantitative information about a sample and, combined with statistical methods, provide a convenient graphical and visual representation of the data.
Agnese Brangule joined the BBCE project as a Group 4 (Kinetics and stability of drug delivery systems) leader in January 2021. She conducts her research in the field of:
Mg. Pharm. Renāte Teterovska

ORCID: orcid.org/0000-0002-2979-9130
Renāte obtained pharmacy degree in 2013 at Rīga Stradiņš university. She is currently completing her PhD in Pharmacy at Rīga Stradiņš University, where she has developed a strong foundation in the characterization and analysis of natural compounds and their biological activities. She has interest in exploring innovative drug delivery systems, such as hydrogels, nanoparticle-based carriers and biomaterial scaffolds. Renāte was part of projects in herbal medicine analysis, applications and safe use: “Development of herbal plants containing medical extracts with anti-parasitic effect”, “Development of medicinal forms of the leaf extract of the Latvian traditional medicinal plant tansy and its effect on the digestive tract microbiome and anti-parasitic control in sheep”, “Research on the interaction between medications and dietary supplements and analysis of their impact on patient health”, and “Medicine, food supplement and medicinal plant use and risks in Latvia”.
She also has extensively worked with students teaching about medicinal plants, cosmetics and research basics. Renāte has supervised numerous student research projects. She participated in education projects as well: “Blended intensive programme digital health 2.0.”, “Dynamic Digital Skills for Agility and Resilience in Medical and Allied Professions (DDS-MAP)”, “Continuing education course Diagnosis and treatment of the most common food intolerances in children in primary care and hospital stage. Usefulness of nutritional supplements.”

Ance Bārzdiņa graduated from Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) in 2022 with a Master’s degree in Pharmacy. Starting in 2022 she is a PhD Student at Rīga Stradiņš University studying in the Healthcare/Pharmacy program. She joined the BBCE SFG4 group in 2021 as a student and continues to be a part of the team now as a PhD Student. Her previous research has been on the development of analytical methods for the identification and characterization of medicinal plants and their products. Currently, she is investigating polymeric nanoformulations for targeted delivery of antibiotics and polyphenols. Ance also works with students and teaches at the RSU Faculty of Pharmacy.
