BBCE Summer School 2023 on “Scientific writing and presenting skills”

Event date: 13-11-2023

A 5-days Summer School on “Scientific Writing and presenting skills” will be organized by Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini, Zoya Hadzhieva and Marcela Arango Ospina, Institute of Biomaterials, Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) on 13-17 November 2023. The Summer School will be held on site in the Institute of Biomaterials in Erlangen.

The focus of the writing school is the concept and design of academic posters, layout techniques, presentation skills, verbal and non-verbal communication. All participants should submit an abstract of maximum 200 words for a poster presentation on their scientific work. After attending the lectures on these topics, the participants will prepare and present a scientific poster and will receive personal feedback on their performance. Moreover, the summer school will give insights in the topics of scientific writing, specifically the participants will learn to identify their research story and to communicate it clearly, effectively and precisely. The third part of the summer school will include a workshop on presenting skills which will give the participants tools to have an effective and powerful communication during oral talks.
