Event date: 10-10-2022
A 5-days Summer School on “Scientific Writing” will be organized by Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini, Zoya Hadzhieva and Marcela Arango Ospina, Institute of Biomaterials, Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) on 10-14 October 2022. The Summer School will be held on site in the Institute of Biomaterials in Erlangen.
The focus of the summer school is the concept and design of academic posters, layout techniques, presentation skills, verbal and non-verbal communication. All participants should submit an abstract of maximum 200 words for a poster presentation on their scientific work. After attending the lectures on these topics, the participants will prepare and present a scientific poster and will receive personal feedback on their performance. Moreover, the summer school will give insights in the topics of scientific writing, specifically how to develop a coherent storyline, establish a line of reasoning, come up with a catchy title and create flow in sentences, paragraphs, and whole texts. The participants will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills, which they obtained during the workshop, and receive feedback on a scientific text. The third part of the summer school will include a lecture on scientific publishing and the several aspects of the editor’s job.
