BBCE Summer School 2025 on “Scientific writing and presenting skills”

A 5-days Summer School on “Scientific Writing and presenting skills” will be organized by Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini, Dr. Zoya Hadzhieva and Marcela Arango Ospina, Institute of Biomaterials, Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) on 22-26 September 2025. The Summer School will be held on site in the Institute of Biomaterials in Erlangen.

The event will start with a workshop on the topic of scientific writing, specifically the participants will learn to identify their research story and to communicate it clearly, effectively and precisely in a research article. The second part of the writing school will be on presenting skills which will give the participants tools to have an effective and powerful communication during oral talks. All participants should submit an abstract of maximum 200 words on the topic of their scientific work which will be the focus of the writing and presenting workshops during the summer school.

Deborah Bennett

Deborah has a unique combination of experience in science, research and teaching. She has a PhD in Mathematical Biology, an MA in Teaching English for Academic Purposes and more than ten years of teaching experience in a wide range of teaching contexts. Since founding BETA in 2010, she has offered regular workshops for postgraduates and faculty members at various research institutions in Western Europe. She is an ILM-certified trainer and remains active in English for Academic Purposes research.

A book of abstracts with all the submitted contributions will be published on the BBCE website.

BBCE project´s main objective is to establish a joint Baltic Biomaterials Centre of Excellence for advanced biomaterials development based on the long-term strategic cooperation between AO Research Institute Davos, Switzerland (ARI) and Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany (FAU) on the one hand and RTU RBIDC, LIOS, RSU and RSU IS on the other hand.
