We are proud to celebrate the remarkable achievement of our esteemed international partner, Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini (FAU Erlangen–Nuremberg, Germany, BBCE International Partner), who has been awarded the prestigious Doctor Honoris Causa by the National University of Cuyo in San Rafael, Argentina.

Prof. Boccaccini, Head of the Institute of Biomaterials at FAU Erlangen–Nuremberg, received this distinguished honor from the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo (UNCuyo) in his hometown of San Rafael, Mendoza. The conferment ceremony took place on March 18, 2026, at the Faculty of Applied Sciences for Industry (FCAI).

This recognition highlights Prof. Boccaccini’s outstanding academic achievements and his significant contributions to the field of materials science and engineering—particularly in biomaterials—as well as his longstanding support for the development of academic activities at FCAI.

The ceremony marked a historic milestone, as it was the first time that the Doctor Honoris Causa distinction has been awarded in the city of San Rafael.
