On the 27th of April BBCE WP2 leader Dr.sc.ing. Dagnija Loca hosted a seminar for students during the 59th Student scientific and technical conference of RTU. She shared the floor togeather with another gust lecturer Dr.Dzintars Ozols, who introduced the students and new scientists with Microsurgery and science behind it. All togeather 29 students and new scientists had the possibility to find out what is Baltic Biomaterials Centre of Excellence and what are the opportunities for future. After the two lectures, students shared their scientific studies, presenting their current results on different topics starting from calcium phosphates, drug delivery, hydrogels up to data modeling on different computer programs.

BBCE project´s main objective is to establish a joint Baltic Biomaterials Centre of Excellence for advanced biomaterials development based on the long-term strategic cooperation between AO Research Institute Davos, Switzerland (ARI) and Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany (FAU) on the one hand and RTU RBIDC, LIOS, RSU and RSU IS on the other hand.



This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 857287
